ASB Committees
|
- Ad Hoc Food Accountability
The ASB Ad Hoc Food Accountability Committee exists to report its daily findings from: Tuesday Sept.13 through Friday Sept.16; and Monday Sept.19 through Friday Sept. 23, of the 2005/2006 school year. It is important to note that these dates comprise--roughly--the full two weeks following the Food Service Provider’s (Aramark) promises of noticeable changes.
- Ad Hoc Spiritual Formation Survey
The ASB Survey Committee exists to formulate a successful representation of students’ desire for spiritual development and growth. We commit to meeting the needs of Vanguard students by assessing their opinions and suggestions regarding our campus chapel services. This survey is not intended to create opposition or dissention but to further enrich the overall experience provided by the Spiritual Formation Department. We, the ASB Student Council, recognize the need for chapel services to be a challenging and shaping aspect of our campus community.
- Elections Committee
This committee is responsible for: promoting all elections so that students are aware of when and where they can vote; operating the election booths; keeping an exact record of voting students, ensuring ballot box security, tallying ballots, and posting the results. The committee ensures that all election procedures and guidelines are adhered to by all the candidates and that the candidates are qualified to run for the position (GPA verification is conducted by the DLD/A). The committee ensures that every candidate receives a copy of the duties and responsibilities of the position they are running for as well as a copy of the procedures and guidelines for election. The ASB Vice President shall chair this committee with membership consisting of the four (4) Class Secretaries.
- Finance Committee
All legislation concerning expenditures of over $500.00 must go through the Finance Committee. The committee may recommend approval, modification, or rejection of legislation concerning expenditures. Its jurisdiction shall include all matters relating to the Associated Student Body Budget. It shall propose the following fiscal year’s ASB Budget and review any proposed fee increases or decreases by the February meeting of the V.U.S.C. Board and must be approved in its entirety by the new Student Senate by the end of the Spring Semester. The ASB Treasurer shall chair the committee whose members shall include the four (4) Class Treasurers and shall submit committee reports to the DLD/A and consult with the DLD/A periodically regarding ASB finances. Any form of legislation requesting an expenditure(s) of more than $500.00 shall require recommendation to and the approval of the committee and the ASB Student Council.
- InterClub Council
The InterClub Council exists to create strong communication and cooperation between student organizations on campus. The ASB treasurer, as chair of the council and ASB representative, will provide the necessary information and funding to support and encourage the growth of student-led organizations at Vanguard.
