Child Development Drop/Refund Policy
Please make careful note of these dates and policies so as to avoid any negative financial or academic consequences! If you have questions regarding the CDP policies, please contact the CDP office at cdp@vanguard.edu.
Students must contact the Child Development office in writing of their intention to drop. Unless written notification is received, the student will remain officially registered in the class/classes listed on the registration form for that semester and will be financially and academically responsible. All drops will be processed using the date when the student’s written notification is received by Vanguard University CDP office. Students who wish to drop must include the following information in their drop request: semester of attendance date & specific names of the class/classes they wish to drop as well as their full name & contact information. We advise students if they mail their drop request to send their request registered mail. If you are emailing your drop we advise students to keep a copy of their drop email with verification of the date/time stamp the email was sent. Students who email drops should also confirm the following VU working day, via phone, that their email request to drop was received. Once the CDP office receives a drop you will receive via email a confirmation of the drop. PLEASE NOTE: VU-CDP is not responsible for drop requests sent via email that are not routed correctly and result in non-receivership by VU.
Drops received before 11:59 p.m. (PT) Sunday prior to Monday of the 3rd week of class result in no academic consequence.
Drops received during the 3rd week of class, will result in a "W" (Withdrawal).
Drops received after 11:59 p.m. (PT) Sunday before the 4th week of class result in an "F". Once a letter grade of "F" is issued the student must submit an academic petition for the final grade to be considered for any changes.
Child Development Refund Policy
Only official drops received by the CDP Office before 11:59 pm (PT) on the Sunday before the class “Start Date” will be eligible for tuition refunds. Refunds will not be granted for any drop request received by the CDP office after 11:59 PM (PT) the Sunday before the class "Start Date". If written intent to drop is not received, the student will remain financially responsible for the tuition cost. Students must notify the Child Development office in writing of their intention to drop (either by mail or email: cdp@vanguard.edu). There are no refunds for application fees. Students who qualify for tuition refunds must submit a check request form to the Business Office regardless of method of payment, e.g., credit card, check, etc. Credit card payments are not credited back to credit cards.
Child Development Non-Attendance Drop Policy
Students who have "not" logged into their online class by Tuesday, 5 pm (PT) of the first week of class will be locked out of their class and denied access. Students locked out of class due to non-attendance are not relieved of their financial & academic responsibility. (Note: Being locked out for non-attendance does not constitute being automatically dropped from class). No refunds will be granted, and to remain in good academic standing a written request to drop must be provided to the CDP Office. Please refer to the CDP Drop Policy for further clarification of tuition refunds and academic responsibility.
