Grants and Scholarships for Graduate Programs
Religion
GPA, available funding, and financial need are criteria used to determine Financial Aid awards.
Academic Scholarship
- Tier One requires an incoming GPA of at least 3.75 and at least half-time enrollment. Award amount: 15% of tuition.
- Tier Two requires an incoming GPA of between 3.50 and 3.74 and at least half-time enrollment. Award amount: 10% of tuition.
Vanguard Need Grant
Awarded to students with exceptional Financial Aid need.
Minister’s Scholarship
Available to ordained/licensed ministers who are enrolled at least half-time. Must be involved in full-time Christian service as primary family income. Award amount: $75 per unit.
Vanguard Church Grant
Available to students who attend one of the Assemblies of God churches that is a member of the Vanguard Church Fund (based on the availability of funds and is awarded by the church).
Bryan S. Smith Scholarship
Available to students interested in facilitating the advancement of scholarship and evangelism in areas that are related to the Spanish-speaking world.
Clinical Psychology
Academic Scholarship
- Tier One requires an incoming GPA of at least 3.75 and at least half-time enrollment. Award amount: 15% of tuition.
- Tier Two requires an incoming GPA of at least 3.50 and at least half-time enrollment. Award amount: 10% of tuition.
- Tier Three requires an incoming GPA of at least 3.00 and at least half-time enrollment. Award amount: 5% of tuition.

Federal Pell Grant
Awarded to Credential Program students with exceptional financial need based upon FAFSA information. (EFC $0 - $4,617)
Cal Grant Teaching Credential Program Benefits
Cal Grant A and B recipients who plan to enroll in the Graduate Program in Education to complete the Teaching Credential Program may be eligible to renew their Cal Grant award for an additional year. The additional year of payment is provided to students who are seeking an initial Teaching Credential and cannot be used for other graduate level courses of study.

Awarded to students with exceptional Financial Aid need.
Christian Educator’s Grant
Students teaching full time in a Christian school receive a 15% tuition discount when enrolling in a credential, certificate, and/or MA program only. If a student is enrolled in a credential or certificate program, employment must be in the subject area in which the credential or certificate will be obtained. The Financial Aid Office will require appropriate verification of full time employment.
Other Scholarships
Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students completing a Graduate or Law Degree. The award grants a student up to $50,000 annually for a maximum of six years. Two students may be nominated by Vanguard University each year. Once nominated, the student will complete the application materials. The Dean's Council will look at all of the nominees and elect two students for application to the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship.
If you feel that you qualify after looking at the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship, you may speak with your Department Chair to see if you qualify for nomination.

Soroptimist International of Los Angeles
This scholarship is open to women who are U.S. Citizens and California residents pursuing a Master's or Doctorate degree.
