The Floor Mom And Sisters Ministry Leadership Team
This ministry is led by a team of faculty, staff, and alumni women who have committed to empower our students to succeed in their Vanguard experience and become world changers through their chosen vocation after graduation.

Judy Adams Floor Mom, Gift Baskets coordinator
I have had the privilege of working with many VU students for the past two decades, and I never tire of it! One of the most exciting things we get to do is welcome the new freshmen as they arrive during Welcome Week. This is my ninth year as a Floor Mom and third year on the Floor Mom Leadership Team. Being a part of this ministry has been a lot of fun and a total blessing to me personally. The Floor Mom Program allows us to give back a bit of what the students have given to us through the years. As a Floor Mom, it is very rewarding to watch freshmen grow to become seniors in a few short years. It is a pleasure to see them dressed in cap and gown walking down the aisle at graduation wildly waving to their Floor Moms as they spot them in the crowd.
I attended Southern California College (now VUSC) in the 70's where I met my husband, Doug. He was on the baseball team and later on the coaching staff here at Vanguard for several years. We have 2 children: Jessica, a Sociology major at VU, and Brett, a student at Newport Harbor High School and who looks forward to becoming a VU student in the near future.

Chelsea Belardo Floor Mom, Recruiter and Public Relations coordinator
I’m honored with the role of recruiting other ladies to assist in making this amazing ministry happen. This is my second year as a Floor Mom and my first on the Leadership Team. I was born in Hawaii and raised in South Carolina. My first time ever flying by myself and coming to California was also my first day of Music Camp at Vanguard University. I have vivid memories of the precious gifts, movie nights, and seasonal festivities that my freshman residence floor shared with my Floor Moms. When I graduated and began working here in 2004, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of this great group of mentors.
Currently, I am loving life after college as the Alumni Relations Coordinator in our Development Office and get paid to do event-planning, fundraising, website management, and maintaining records for our university alumni & friends. As a student, I was involved in several dance ensembles and Frontline New Student Orientation (aka Welcome Week). I’ve never missed a VU theatre show; I still adore going to chapel; and my favorite college sports teams are the Vanguard Lions. I guess it’s true… I bleed blue and gold!

Pam Crenshaw
Floor Mom, Secretary & Treasurer
I have had the privilege to be a part of the Floor Mom Leadership Team for 4 years and a Floor Mom for 10 years. Vanguard is a special part of my life as I met my husband, Steve '77, and attended here from 1972-1974 before graduating in 1992. Overall, I have worked at Vanguard for over 20 years. My daughter Crista '06 is a recent graduate and my son Marc has taken classes. I work in the library as a librarian/archivist and see many of my girls (that I'm a Floor Mom of) there studying.
I love being a Floor Mom and helping freshmen women feel a part of the community! We plan special events, remember them on holidays, and most importantly, pray for them. I love seeing them grow, mature, and finally graduate... as confident women much different than from when they arrived.

Christine Williams
Floor Mom, Ministry Director
I have had the pleasure of working here at Vanguard as the Division Secretary in the School of Religion since August of 1995. I am know by many to be a dyed in the RED Angels baseball fan, love designing and making quilts, and just being a MOM! My husband Darrell graduated from Vanguard with a degree in Religion and a teaching credential from Vanguard's Graduate Education Program Spring 2004. We have a son Zachary who is 8 years old and would one day like to be a scientist and student of Vanguard in 2017.
I am very blessed to be a part of this incredible ministry to the students of Vanguard University. Every year, I look forward to involvement with faculty, staff, and alumni who have joined with us to serve our students. It is our desire as a ministry to see our graduates stay connected to Vanguard, and through this ministry we see life long relationships grow as they become volunteers. It is a tremendous opportunity to be able to provide support for the needs of our freshman. It has had an impact that both enriches and encourages them throughout the coming year.
