Incoming Music and Worship Arts Course Registration

*Incoming students will enroll in Theory Placement (Call# 0000) to determine which class he or she will be attending.  Subsequent theory courses will be taken in order until Music Theory II has been been completed.  Students must show proficiency in Basic Musicianship I (MUSC 106) prior to enrolling in Basic Musicianship II (MUSC 106).  PLEASE NOTE: Theory courses are only offered in the semester in which they are indicated below.  If a student tests into Basic Musicianship II, he or she will not attend a theory class until Spring Semester.

Incoming students will enroll in Piano Placement (Call# 0002) to determine which class he or she will be attending.

Incoming students will enroll in Ensemble Placement (Call#0001) until it is determined which ensemble he or she will be performing.  Orchestra, Concert Choir, and Women's Chorus are the ensembles which fulfill the requirements for the Music and Worship Arts Major.  All other ensembles - Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Vanguard Singers & Band, etc. - are by audition only and may be taken in addition to the primary ensemble.

Note: All incoming VUSC students who are intending to declare a Music and Worship Arts Major and/or are interested in a music activity scholarship, are required to perform an entrance audition in their primary performing medium.  It is the responsibility of the student to be in contact with the Music department regarding audition dates and deadlines.  Please visit www.vanguard.edu/music and click on the "Audition Request Form" on the left side bar to begin this process.
