About Newport Hall
Newport Hall is designed to house returning and transfer male and female students. This facility utilizes a "quad" floor plan in which four rooms share a large lounge/living area. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The rooms are designed for both double, triple, and quadruple occupancy. Newport Hall has a common study room and laundry facility. Check out a floor plan.

How long have you been a RD? This is my third year as a RD.
What building do you call your home? Balboa/ Newport
What are some of your hobbies? Most of my hobbies have the theme of stretching me. I love to experience new cultures. I enjoy learning what people value, what makes them press on, and what gives them joy. I also love to travel, which has challenged me with new realities and questions. I also enjoy being active, reading, athletic activities, and of course, hanging out with my wife.
What is your favorite part about being in the RD role on a campus like VU's? Vanguard seems uniquely devoted in caring for the students who attend our institution. Whether high or low, as an institution we are committed to challenging one another to be better people, leaders, and followers of Christ. As a RD I get the privilege of being actively involved in this process.
Who was your favorite superhero growing up? I loved He-Man. Why? You never really saw He Man getting lip from anybody. He didn’t have a dorky/wimpy side to him. He was strong and stronger. There wasn’t anybody whose butt he couldn’t kick. Let’s be honest, he had the power.
Verse to live by? John 13:34-35: “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” I think if we simply lived out this commandment crazy things would happen.
