Performance Opportunities
Six mainstage shows are produced each year including a musical revue and a large-scale musical. We also produce a Showcase Week each semester for senior projects and student director projects. The mainstage plays are directed by resident faculty and professional guest artists. Performance classes are held in the Lyceum Theater, a 200-seat intimate theater with a three-quarter thrust. The intimacy of this space serves as a great training ground for young artists because the acting must be honest and organic to serve the space well. Actors are also needed for various student film projects that are produced through our School of Communication and the Arts.
Touring and Missions Opportunities
Students may audition for our department PR and ministry team, The Vanguard Players, which is a group of 8-10 actors who tour for three weeks in May and June. They perform in churches and high schools across the country bringing forth plays with a message of God's truth and grace. Past tours include trips to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, the West coast, the Southwest, and the Northwest. Academic credit and scholarship are included.
Production/Design Opportunities
Outstanding student designers have the opportunity to design mainstage shows as well as senior projects. Production classes are held in the Lyceum Theater and in the Costume and Scenic Shops.
