Website Mission Statement

The Vanguard website support the University's mission through the use of Web technology, enhancing the University's value to its many audiences. These audiences include prospective students and employees, benefactors, alumni, current students, faculty, staff, academic colleagues and researchers outside the University, the media, visitors, neighbors, and the general public.

Specific goals for the University websites include:

  1. enhancing the University's presence on the Internet and broadening recognition for the University,

  2. providing a valuable resource for the VUSC community's efforts at disseminating information, 

  3. developing informative and engaging material that is presented in an attractive, consistent, professional manner,

  4. reflecting the University's broader goals and objectives as articulated in the University's Mission Statement,

  5. enabling all visitors to navigate the VUSC websites easily and effectively by providing consistent navigation and logically defined content areas, with pages optimized for download speed and accessibility,

  6. supporting the University's ongoing efforts at self improvement through the implementation of hardware/software solutions which allow non-experts to develop and maintain institutional webpages, and 

  7. working on improving communication among all those involved in the process of providing content to the institutional websites, encouraging a sharing of expertise and increase in the value of all University webpages.
