Delivery Boys Bios  | ROYEN Age: 19 going on 6 Major: Theatre (Musical) Hometown: Monterey, CA (but I call Santa Cruz my second hometown) What made you want to be a Delivery Boy? I love Jesus, road trips, hanging out with peoples, improvisational comedy, and summer camp! And also candy. But that doesn’t have anything to do with D-Boys… Wow, I’m hyper. What is your favorite Bible verse? Psalm 63. Go. What are your favorite hobbies? Playing ukulele or piano or bass, singing in public, acting, reading plays, running in fields of wildflowers, quadratic equations, and doing impressions of Calli Christenson. What is your least favorite food? Pickles and anything with mayo. What is your most embarassing moment? I played a song on ukulele for a talent show, and it was supposed to be really artful and solemn, and people thought it was funny because of the awkward lyrics, so they laughed/chuckled/guffawed. I was real sad, but I played it off by smiling. The people who liked Sufjan Stevens were sympathetic If you could have any super power, what would it be? Ultimate celebrit-ay Would you have any super gadgets? Bling ray, glitter cannons, Mark Wahlberg, Oscar-shaped throwing stars, paparazzi deflector, lightsaber Superhero catch phrase: “Curse you, Zac Efron!” or “Excuse me… where’s my panini?” On average what is your bed time? 12:30 A.M., or whenever I’m done watching clips of SNL What song do you often find in your head? “You Could Drive a Person Crazy” by Stephen Sondheim, “Take on Me” by A-ha What is a random pet peeve of yours? Incorrect grammar What is an annoying habit of your own? Correcting people’s grammar, singing too loud Which decade (if any) do you wish could be "brought back" and why? The Roaring 20s! Because it’s swell! And also, I’d like to be able to dance the Charleston with F. Scott Fitzgerald and Dorothy Parker. (Fine, fine, the 80s.) How do you take your Starbucks beverages? In a cup. And by that, I mean surgery. Growing up in Southern California, seeing the Delivery Boys and knowing the impact they made in my life was a huge reason in why I wanted to be one. What is your favorite Bible verse? 1 Peter 2:24 "He Himself bore our sins in his body on the cross so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness, by His wounds you have been healed." What are your favorite hobbies? Snowboarding, playing guitar, fine art, large leather bound books, watching the second hand on a clock, TYPING THINGS IN ALL CAPS What is your least favorite food? Bears, Beets, and Battle Star Galactica What is your most embarassing moment? Ask me not on the internet and I might tell you. If you could have any super power, what would it be? I still wanna fly really, really, really fast. Would you have any super gadgets? I would want a utility belt that dispensed Redvines in the rope form so I could lasso my enemies and eat Redvines whenever I wanted to. Superhero catch phrase: “Put it on my tab.” Also, “Welcome to Amurica.” And yes, I spelled America with a U. It makes it sound more Amurican. On average what is your bed time? 1 A.M. usually What song do you often find in your head? "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor What is a random pet peeve of yours? Hiccups and stepping on cracks or aligning myself up with cracks. I know it’s weird. (I hate tile floors) What is an annoying habit of your own? Making fun of people Which decade (if any) do you wish could be "brought back" and why? The 80’s. Not only to see if I was dropped on my head but to see all the great hairstyles, too. I saw them at Vanguard and someone thought I would be a good D-boy. What is your favorite Bible verse? Ecclesiastes 3:1 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” What are your favorite hobbies? Playing the violin and every sport ever. I love them all. What is your least favorite food? Peas and spinach What is your most embarassing moment? I walked around all day at Disneyland with my zipper down. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Run super fast Would you have any super gadgets? Yes, all super gadgets, like Batman Superhero catch phrase: Catch me now, ha ha ha ha ha! On average what is your bed time? 11:30 P.M. What song do you often find in your head? "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" What is a random pet peeve of yours? When people don’t respect my things. What is an annoying habit of your own? I don’t like to step on cracks or lines so I avoid them. Which decade (if any) do you wish could be "brought back" and why? The 40’s or 30’s because I love bowling, I cuff my pants, I like shuffle board and badminton, and my team told me I act as though I am from that decade. How do you take your Starbucks beverages? I like a Strawberry Frappucino. Pearl of Wisdom: There is a time for everything, a time to cry a time to cheer, a time to live and a time to die. Know what time this is and live it to the fullest. If you had one thing to be remembered by, what would it be? I always saw them at Pinecrest, and they seemed to be having the time of their lives. From then on, I told myself when I went to Vanguard I would try out. And so I did… What is your favorite Bible verse? "I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD." Psalms 40:1-3 What are your favorite hobbies? Napping, oyster hunting, playing bass, watching movies, finger painting, acting like a 5 year old, body building, working on my farmer’s tan, competing in hotdog eating competitions, interpretative dancing, frisbee golf, admiring Morgan Freeman. What is your least favorite food? Anything from the ocean (seafood) minus tuna because that IS the chicken of the sea. What is your most embarassing moment? My Life Story… If you could have any super power, what would it be? I would be Stretch Armstrong; everyone knows that this could enhance their laziness and overall coolness. Would you have any super gadgets? Absolutely, I would have a watch to stop time, a jetpack, and a backpack full of Reese’s. Superhero catch phrase: “I Go” and “UUhmericahh” (America) On average what is your bed time? 1 A.M. What song do you often find in your head? “How Great Thou Art” - Carl Gustav Boberg. Just kidding, but seriously. What is a random pet peeve of yours? Lifted trucks with bright headlights, be considerate to the small Honda Civics. What is an annoying habit of your own? Indecisiveness, I just can’t decide what to pick. Which decade (if any) do you wish could be "brought back" and why? 70’s. I can grow a Funk-a-delic fro, off the hook sideburns, I can boogie to disco, and I love to play some mean funk bass. You can call me Dr. Groovy. How do you take your Starbucks beverages?
