International Students
Thank you for considering Vanguard University of Southern California for your educational experience. VUSC practices selective admission and encourages applications from Christian students who desire an education that integrates the Christian faith with learning and living, provides intellectual challenge and growth, and encourages spiritual commitment. International students must be enrolled full-time and maintain a minimum of 12 credits each semester.
International students must fulfill the following requirements:
- International Student Application – must be completely filled out and must include essay concerning your religious views and past religious experience. To request an International Student Application, please email admissions@vanguard.edu.
- Pastoral Reference – form must be filled out and signed by a pastor. Pastoral Reference Form is included in the International Student Application Packet.
- Application fee – include a check or money order for US $45. This is a non-refundable fee.
- Transcripts – your transcripts should be an English translation, and must be notarized by the U.S. Consul or notary, or another authority in your country. If you are transferring any units from a university or seminary oversees, you will need to send your transcripts to an agency that evaluates transcripts. Contact the Admissions Office if you need help finding an agency to evaluate your transcripts.
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – send a copy of your TOEFL scores. To be eligible for admission, you must attain a score of 550 or above (if taking computer-based version, score must be 213 or higher).
- Student Financial Statement and Affidavit – form (included in International Student Application Packet) must be filled out and must include bank statements showing proof of funds. Vanguard University does not have financial aid for international students. Therefore, applicants must provide satisfactory evidence that adequate funds are available to meet the financial obligations required at the time of enrollment.
- Students applying within the U.S. - must submit copies of their visa, I-94, and if on a student visa, copies of their I-20 A-B Form.
