T. Ray MA ’03 and Judy MA ’03 Rachels have led the Southern California
district of the Assemblies of God for twenty years with energy,
compassion and a strong belief in the work of the local church.
Standing Up for Religious Rights
Sharon Linzey, VU’s associate provost for special projects and
professor of sociology, is an internationally recognized human rights
expert who has conducted decades of groundbreaking research in some of
the most difficult regions of the world.
Students’ Business Benefits Africa
VU students have started an international non-profit to aid a village
in Uganda. Today, Krochet Kids International employs people in Uganda
to make trendy hats for U.S. surf-skate-snow aficionados.

Seeds of the Gospel
Alum Alton Childers ’53-’57 used the proceeds from his successful seed
company to fund ministry efforts, reaching hundreds of thousands of
people with food and the gospel.
