Privacy Policy

In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, Vanguard University has established guidelines regarding access to and release of educational records. In short, FERPA allows Vanguard to release “directory information” without consent or knowledge of the students unless the student has notified Vanguard in advance that such information is not to be released. Directory information may include the following: photo, name, address, telephone listing, e-mail address, date and place of birth, major field of study, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, weight and height of members of athletic teams, dates of attendance, degrees and awards received, and the most recent previous educational agency or institution attended.

All students are provided with a Vanguard University email address which is the primary method of communication. Students are responsible for checking this email regularly to stay updated on important information and deadlines.

Semester Billing and Payment Information

Authorized User Login Instructions

Please see student instructions below for adding an authorized user:

  • Visit your Self Service portal
  • Click the “Authorized Users” button 
  • Click dropdown under “Select an Authorized User” and select "Add Another User"
  • Enter authorized user's information
  • Decide permissions 
  • Read Disclosure Agreement and click the "I authorize the institution to disclose my information to this party" check box
  • Select “Submit”

Your authorized user will then receive an email with their own personal login information and instructions.

Parent Plus Loan Refunds

Vanguard University will disburse the Parent PLUS loan to the student’s account to pay tuition, course fees, student fees, room and board, etc. When the parent applies for the loan with the U.S. Department of Education, the parent will designate the refund (if applicable) to either the parent (borrower) or the student. In cases where the borrower designates the refund to the student, Vanguard University will issue the refund via check or direct deposit (electronic refund). If the refund is designated to the borrower, Vanguard University will issue the refund via check.
