On Tuesday, October 20th, the community at Vanguard University will have the opportunity to give blood during the Vanguard University and UC Irvine Medical Center annual blood drive.

Statistics show that 85% of people will need a blood transfusion sometime in their life, yet only 3% of Orange County residents donate blood.

“Your donations will help to ensure that UCI's Trauma and Cancer Centers are better equipped to meet the needs of the people of Orange County,” says UCI blood donor recruiter Teresa Bewley.

The blood drive will take place from 11:00am to 4:00pm in the mobile blood unit in the loading zone outside Huntington Hall. Participants should reserve one hour for the process, eat prior to donating and bring photo identification.
