The Vanguard University theatre department presents its portrayal of Twelve Angry Jurors October 30th - November 8th. All shows will play at the Lyceum Theater located on the Vanguard University campus off Newport Boulevard.
Originally titled Twelve Angry Men, this gripping drama presents a room full of perfect strangers who must decide the fate of a teenage boy from the wrong side of the tracks who is on trial for the murder of his father. The evidence appears stacked against him, but after an initial vote, the hidden preconceptions and assumptions of each juror are revealed. Tensions rise as the evidence in the case is examined further and each juror is forced to face their own prejudices before casting their final verdict.
"When I saw this show professionally done I realized that I had just witnessed the best piece of theater that I had seen in the last five years, and I knew I had to direct it. If it's done right, it should leave the audience spellbound,” says director Susan K. Berkompas.
Ticket prices are $14 for general admission and $12 for seniors and children. Tickets may be purchased at www.vanguardtickets.com or by calling the Vanguard University theatre department box office at 714-668-6145. Season subscriptions and group rates are available.
